Several juniors are hoping to travel for their LINK internships next March to places ranging from Washington DC to Cambodia, California to Nantucket, Malawi to Denver, Costa Rica to New Orleans. Students who plan to complete their internships in a community other than ours need to complete the Out-of-Town Application and turn it in no later than Friday, November 1st. The application can be found on the LINK Student Materials page.
Juniors should be working to refine their professional resumes so they are ready to turn in to Libby (electronic or hard copy) by Monday, October 21st. You'll be using your resume as you communicate with mentors, as a way to share information with them about your relevant experiences, interests and skills. Remember to include an objective statement that articulates your goal in obtaining a LINK internship! There is a sample student resume and a checklist that will help you edit and refine right here.
I've had the opportunity to meet with so many fantastic potential LINK mentors in the past week or two, and I'm excited to try to find just the right AHS student to pair with each one. Check out the Internship Placement Ideas page to find out more about recently confirmed internship opportunities with the Women's Resource Center, Studio &, Cabbage Creative, Spine Colorado, Dance in the Rockies, Los Companeros: Four Corners Immigrant Resource Center and Fusion Interiors.
